About Bishops Croft

Bishops Croft is a residential service for people who have Prader Willi-Syndrome (PWS).  We are able to support up to 8 adults aged 18 years and over. We provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can be fully involved in their care and support in order to lead a more independent and fulfilling future.

Our approach to support:

At Bishop's Croft we work closely with local authorities, commissioners, families, advocates of the people we support and other healthcare professionals - always ensuring that each individual gets the best possible support, which is designed by their own personal needs and wishes.

We have a dedicated staff team with varied levels of experience across all aspects of PWS care and support. Staff are trained to the highest possible standards, including all mandatory training, specific training in PWS and associated areas and QCF. All staff support and encourage each person to be as independent as possible as well as maintaining their individuality.

We support and encourage everyone at Bishops Croft to be as independent as possible and this can cover a wide spectrum of activities. Everyone living here is supported to identify goals and wishes through key worker meetings and reviews, where discussion takes place as to how they would like to achieve this.

Bishop's Croft promotes Craegmoor's communication and feedback programme, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of themselves and others living at the service.

What it’s like to live here:

We have an on-site day services facility located within the grounds where there are a number of activities that are available. These include arts and crafts, IT training and literacy and numeracy. Alongside our day service we are able to support people to access to a large range of activities including courses at the local college, work placements in a variety of different settings, access to the local advocacy group as well as accessing the local gym, swimming facilities and pottery studio.

As we are situated in a village there are also lovely walks into the countryside that we regularly go on.

Facilities:

Bishops Croft is located in a quiet village called Robertsbridge, East Sussex. All rooms are single occupancy, three of which have en-suite bath or shower facilities.

There are local amenities within walking distance down to the village shops.
