Enabling Independence
Craegmoor Healthcare operates 16 hospitals and community homes, providing high quality rehabilitative care, treatment and support to adults who are or who have been detained under the mental health act.
A person centred approach enables individuals to progress through a care pathway from medium and low secure hospitals to community based settings, according to individual needs and based on full risk assessments.
A Multi-Disciplinary Approach
The multi-disciplinary team focuses on a person centred approach to rehabilitative care, balancing public protection and individual needs. As well as a fully qualified nursing staff, the team comprises consultant psychiatrists, forensic and clinical psychologists and psychology assistants, occupational therapists, education and vocational services co-ordinators, physiotherapy, social workers and art and music therapists.
Therapeutic and educational support
The core aim is to provide tailored therapeutic care and support which enables each individual to progress through a care pathway, whilst fulfilling their maximum potential.

Accreditation
Independent Hospitals Division is now a recognized approved centre to offer Open College Network (OCN) courses and National Open College Network (NOCN) qualifications. This is a key part of our development of educational services for clients being cared for by the hospitals and community group homes, enabling individuals to improve their life skills, gain accredited qualifications and to pursue worthwhile hobbies and work based activities.
