Ted Smith - CEO
Ted joined Craegmoor in 2004 as Chief Operating Officer and became Chief Executive Officer in 2005. Ted has driven the turnaround in Craegmoor’s fortunes, overseeing the appointment of a new Board and Senior Management Team, and driving the development of strategic and operating plans to lead the future direction of the business.
Christine Cameron - COO
Christine has worked for Craegmoor for over ten years and has a strong commitment to working with individuals with a range of disabilities. She originally trained as a nurse for learning disabilities, working in many areas including hospital sites, nursing and residential homes as well as supporting people in their own or family homes.
David Manson - CFO
David is a graduate of Cambridge University and a qualified Chartered Accountant. He trained with Price Waterhouse and shortly after qualification joined the United Kenning Rental Group, a multi-million pound vehicle rental company, as Financial Controller. He was promoted to the role of Finance Director in 1997 and in 2000 played a key role in the sale of the business.
Debbie Rotchell – HR Director
Debbie has worked for Craegmoor since 2004 and has been instrumental in improving staff retention having introduced various initiatives such as clear pay scales for service based staff linked to individual performance, extended staff training options and an internal cultural change programme.
Julian Ball – Commercial Director
Julian is responsible for the Business Development Team, Property Team and oversees acquisitions of new businesses. He has worked for Craegmoor since April 2009. Julian has over 25 years in the care and support field. At twenty one, Julian started as a care assistant at a care home for older people and people with physical disabilities.
Scott Morrison – Legal Director
Scott is also the Company Secretary of Craegmoor taking responsibility for ensuring that the company meets the many obligations that arise because it operates in a highly regulated environment. It is also about ensuring that Craegmoor manages the various types of risk faced, in the best way possible.
Avril Evans – Divisional Managing Director, Older People Division
Avril has a strong background in health and social care. She previously had a successful career in the public sector, starting as a social worker and ultimately becoming Head of Adult Services for Swindon Borough Council. Avril joined Craegmoor in December 2008 as Divisional Managing Director for the Older People’s Division.
Julian Spurling – Divisional Managing Director for Independent Hospitals and Specialist South
Julian joined Craegmoor in 2004 as Group Marketing and Development Director. Currently as a Divisional Managing Director, he is responsible for both Independent Hospitals and Specialist South care homes.
Sarah Hughes - Divisional Managing Director Specialist Central and Colleges
Sarah has worked for Craegmoor for many years, starting her working life a Staff nurse. Sarah is a Registered Mental Nurse with 22 years experience of working within the care industry. Within her current role Sarah has a varied overarching responsibility ensuring that best practice is developed throughout and delivered in order that best possible outcomes are achieved for everyone using Craegmoor services.
Melanie Ramsey - Divisional Managing Director Specialist North
Melanie joined Craegmoor in March 2007 as an Area Manager looking after fourteen services across the North West and Yorkshire supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs who may also present challenging behaviours. Melanie and her team enjoy listening and acting on what the people in her division say regarding their support from us as their support provider.
Jo Wilson - Marketing Director
Jo has a degree in Commerce and Economics from Birmingham University and a Masters degree in Marketing. Jo has a Chartered Institute of Marketing postgraduate diploma and e-marketing diploma.
Amanda Morgan-Taylor - Director of Quality Development
Amanda joined Craegmoor in 2008 as the Head of Audit within the Quality Development Team. Amanda has a strong background in contracting and commissioning which she gained as the Head of Learning Disability Services for a north Wales local authority. Amanda started her career in mental health nursing and worked for both private and third sector care organisations
