The Ordinary Story of Theresa's New Found Confidence

Before moving into a Craegmoor service, Theresa had been living in a home which couldn't offer her the support she needed.

It was supposed to be a temporary placement whilst somewhere more suitable was found but she stayed there for three years. As a result Theresa lacked in confidence, rarely left the building and she always walked with the aid of a walking frame.

When Theresa moved into her new home, staff supported and encouraged her and Theresa soon started walking short distances unaided. With the ongoing encouragement of staff, she started to increase her distances and can now walk around her new home. Her new found confidence has enabled her to become more involved in activities and she really enjoys helping out in the kitchen. With some support, she can also walk outside and is really enjoying being able to get outside again.

Theresa's achievements have given her the confidence to start joining in with outdoor activities such as horse riding, bowling, going out for meals, and she has just started speed dating. She has so much more confidence and is living life to the full.
