The Ordinary Story of Malcolm's Amazing New Found Freedom
Before moving into Church View, Malcolm had been living in long stay hospitals for many years and rarely went outside.
His eyesight had steadily deteriorated, which meant he relied on staff to do most things for him such as making his meals and doing his shopping.
With support and encouragement from the multi disciplinary team at Church View, Malcolm slowly started to gain independence. He began to make his own drinks, help in the kitchen and go out shopping.
Now, with his new found confidence, Malcolm enjoys going out for pub lunches, bowling and trips to the seaside. He has also recently joined an arts and crafts group where he likes making cards and boxes. Although he may no longer have his eyesight, he has proved that it doesn't mean he can't live independently.
