The Ordinary Story of Jim's Increasing Strength
Despite being wheelchair-bound with spinocerebellar ataxia, Jim was very keen to try upper body weight training.
When he moved into Newhouse, Craegmoor staff encouraged him to pursue his interest and helped him gain the necessary approval from his social worker and East Ayrshire Council's Community Health Improvement Partnership.
Craegmoor arranged for Jim to attend an induction at a local gym, where he thoroughly enjoyed being shown how to use the weights. He decided he would like to train on a regular basis and now really looks forward to his gym sessions every week with his support worker.
