Yorkshire Christmas Extravagnaza
People from across Yorkshire came together to celebrate Christmas in style at a fantastic festive party on Friday. The celebrations were held at St Michael's Church Hall, East Ardsley and attended by people supported by Craegmoor, as well as staff, friends, family and lots of local people.
21 December 2010
The Christmas celebration was organised by Craegmoor's Dolphin Lane service in Thorpe on the Hill. Craegmoor is the leading independent provider of support for people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and mental illnesses, as well as older people, supporting around 4,000 people across the UK.
The very merry celebration included live music from the Altofts & Normanton brass band. One of the band members is Dolphin Lane's very own Vicky Harthorn. To keep people's energy up for all the singing and dancing, mince pies and mulled wine were served.
To finish off the party, Dolphin Lane arranged a raffle with a range of exciting prizes, which included a hamper full of festive treats kindly donated by the Wakefield Hospice.
All proceeds from the celebration will go to the Wakefield Hospice, a palliative care centre providing in-patient care as well as a drop-in centre.
Adele Limbert, Activities Coordinator at Dolphin Lane said;
"We're delighted that our Christmas Party was such a huge success. We had so many guests and everyone had a wonderful time, dancing away to the festive brass band and singing carols."
"We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to take part in our seasonal celebrations."
