Suffolk Care Home Celebrates Spring With A Party
More than 60 people came together at Craegmoor's The Orwell care home in Wherstead, Ipswich on Wednesday 31st March to celebrate the start of spring and the work of Jennie Jenkins, the Chairperson of Babergh District Council, who is retiring on 22nd April.

Guests including the Mayor and Mayoress of Ipswich and the British Legion were entertained by the 36th Ipswich Scout Group who sang campfire songs, Irish dancer Lucy and ballerinas from Miss Linford's School of Ballet. Members of The Orwell's staff also gave a second performance of their pantomime - first performed earlier in the year. Luckily for the team, Paul Miller of the Ipswich Building Society was on hand to fill in as Prince Charming at the last minute.
The team at The Orwell organised the event following the success of their Remembrance Festival held last November.
Mandy Dennington, The Orwell's Activities Co-ordinator said:
"The whole event was very special and emotional and continued long into the evening after a special buffet tea, which was prepared by the kitchen team, was enjoyed. There was lots of laughter and people who live in the home and staff all shared precious memories, reciting tales and sharing special pieces of music."
