Mattishall Locals Race For Life
A team of five local people from Mattishall took part in this year's Race for Life in Norwich on Saturday 1st May and successfully raised over £400 for Cancer Research UK.
5 May 2010
The team from Craegmoor's The Oaks and Woodcroft service - which provides support for 12 people with learning disabilities - comprised three people that Craegmoor supports at the service and two support workers.
The five woman team included Diane Cottonham, Margaret Everett and Tanya Reeve, who completed the 5km course at Norwich's Showground in record time. Diane, Margaret and Tanya's dedicated support workers - Diane Joyce and Debbie Everett - who accompanied them on the day, had been training for the event with long walks around Mattishall village. Donations came from staff at the 'excellent' Care Quality Commission rated The Oaks and Woodcroft service, family members and friends.
Support worker, Debbie Everett said:
"Diane took part in Race for Life in 2009 and she really enjoyed herself so Margaret and Tanya decided they'd like to get involved too. We all had a great time on Saturday and are really pleased that we've been able to make so much money for Cancer Research UK."
