Local Man Adds Sparkle To 7000 Christmases
A Torquay man will be brightening thousands of Christmases this year with his winning Christmas card design.
22 December 2010
Kenny Jones, who is supported by Phoenix Lodge, has won the National Craegmoor Christmas Card Competition. The contest was to design a card that will be sent out to 7,000 people across the UK, including Craegmoor staff, the people they support and their friends and relatives.
Phoenix Lodge is owned and operated by Craegmoor, the leading independent provider for people with learning disabilities, complex needs, autism and mental illnesses, as well as older people. The Christmas Card Competition is the just one of the heats in the Craegmoor Artist of the Year competition.
More than 150 entries were submitted by people supported by Craegmoor, so competition was stiff, but Kenny wowed the judges with his happy snowman design. This chilly, cheeky chappy is currently spreading festive cheer across the country.
Kenny has been at Phoenix Lodge for more than two years and art is one of his favourite activities.
Caroline Hart, Manager at Phoenix Lodge said:
"We're all so proud of Kenny for his fantastic Christmas card! He's always been very creative and it's great that his happy snowman will now be sending season's greetings to thousands of people across the UK."
