As the Manager of Craegmoor’s Ty Gwyn Hall Independent Hospital in Llantilio Pertholey, Abergavenny, Shaun has been instrumental in turning Ty Gwyn into a modern and forward thinking service where people with complex mental illnesses are encouraged to feel empowered and have control over their own lives.
Operated by Craegmoor - who provide support to older people and people living with learning disabilities and mental illnesses across the country – Ty Gwyn Hall has recently undergone an extensive £4 million redevelopment. This has transformed it from a service that provides treatment, care and support to 23 people to one that supports 34, in addition to providing larger rooms and kitchen facilities.
Shaun successfully spearheaded this exciting project whilst continuing to ensure the provision of personalised care to all people, recruiting new staff and being a friend and supportive colleague to many.
Shaun Cooper, Manager of Ty Gwyn Hall Independent Hospital, said today:
“I am thrilled that I have won this fantastic award and would like to thank everyone at Laing and Buisson and Craegmoor for their recognition and ongoing support. The redevelopment of Ty Gwyn has already supported so many positive outcomes for people and there is still so much more for us to achieve in partnership with others.”
Julian Spurling, Craegmoor’s Divisional Managing Director Specialist North, Independent Hospitals & Colleges, said today:
“Everyone at Craegmoor is excited for Shaun and incredibly proud of his achievements. He continues to be an inspiration to us all and to the people that we support and there is still so much more to come.”
