Norfolk Cyclist Wins Three Gold Medals At Special Olympics

 

Roger Hills, a resident of Craegmoor’s The Oaks and Woodcroft Care Home in Mattishall in Norfolk, has won three gold medals in cycling at the Special Olympics National Summer Games in Leicester. The 52 year old, cycling as part of the delegation representing the East of England, won gold in the 5km Road Race, the 5km Time Trial and the 1500m Time Trial during the 7-day long Games.

Roger Hills, a resident of Craegmoor’s The Oaks and Woodcroft Care Home in Mattishall in Norfolk, has won three gold medals in cycling at the Special Olympics National Summer Games in Leicester. The 52 year old, cycling as part of the delegation representing the East of England, won gold in the 5km Road Race, the 5km Time Trial and the 1500m Time Trial during the 7-day long Games.

Roger, who has lived at The Oaks and Woodcroft since 2001, has been cycling for over two years. He trains every Thursday at the Norfolk Showground in Norwich, becoming something of a local celebrity in Mattishall as a result of his achievements, even appearing on ITV’s Anglia Tonight.
