A Craegmoor service in Herefordshire which supports people with learning disabilities has teamed up with Hereford Museum and Art Gallery to showcase the artistic talent of the people using the service in a new exhibition that opened this week.

Craegmoor – who work with over 4,000 people with learning disabilities, complex needs and mental illnesses, as well as older people, across the UK – supported individuals who live at the company’s Castle Farm service in Bartestree, Herefordshire, to attend weekly art classes with Alison Barter of local art and design company A and S Studios.

The exhibition, which runs throughout September and October, showcases the original artwork that individuals living at Castle Farm produced in their art classes, including painting, sculptures, modelling, t-shirt designs and even a funky take on a reusable shopping bag!

Tracy Bowen, Deputy Manager of Castle Farm, said today:

It’s been brilliant to see how the people living at Castle Farm have worked so imaginatively. They have relished the weekly art classes and it’s fantastic to see the artwork produced on display in such a great setting

Sarah Hughes, Craegmoor’s Divisional Managing Director - Specialist Division, South, said today:

Craegmoor believes passionately in the concept of making things possible for the people who use our services. “It’s great to see such an excellent exhibition happening and we hope as many people as possible get to enjoy it as much as those who created the artwork did!
