Acting Senior Support Worker - Levitt Mill and Barn


We currently require an acting Senior Support Worker for Levitt Mill & Barn with a view to making this position permanent depending on performance. Levitt Mill & Barn caters for the needs of adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism & Challenging Behaviour.

Specific Duties Include:

• Provide support and encouragement to Service Users in all areas/activities of daily living

• Maintaining the respect, dignity and rights to privacy of Service Users

• Contributing to the assessment of Service Users’ needs and the development of individual plans of care and support, in consultation with service users, their families and the Care Team

• Conducting Risk Assessments

• Acting as a Key Worker for an identified Service User, or designated group

• Administering of service user medications

• Working with the care and support team to deliver high standards of service to achieve planned goals

• Undertaking supervisory tasks as required: coaching and supporting less experienced staff and assisting with the induction and orientation of new staff


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Minimum of NVQ 2 in Care or equivalent care qualification

• Willing to work towards NVQ 3 in Care

• Accredited Medication Training and up to date Medication Competency Assessments

• Experience in a care and support setting

• Understand the needs of the Service User group

• Specific service-related experience may be required

• Full clean driving an advantage


Salary/hourly rate

£6.50 per hour

Levitt Mill offers a warm and homely environment with opportunities for people to extend and enhance the quality of their day to day living. Individuals have varying levels of learning disabilities and are all supported by experienced and friendly staff. A key philosophy is that people maintain as much independence as possible and with support can achieve their full potential in life.
